PUBLIC RADIO IN MID-AMERICA (PRIMA)

Board Conference call
December 5, 2005
2:30 ET

Minutes

Present: Patty Wente , KWMU (President); Cleve Callison, WMUB (Vice-President); Christina Kuzmych, WFIU (Secretary); Dorie Vallillo, WIUM (Treasurer); Jon Schwartz, Wyoming Public Radio (Board Member No. 2); Dan Skinner, WBAA (Board Member No. 3)

I. Meeting began at 2:30 E.T.

II. PRRO Retreat

Regional retreat will take place on Monday and Tuesday. Patty will represent PRIMA.

Mike Riksen has asked regional presidents for input to create a better Hill Day experience.

Meeting with Ken Stern will be on Thursday. Patty will not be able to stay for this meeting.

One of the issues – Capitol Hill Day should not be tacked on to the A-Reps day. This seems to be advocated by other regionals. This is not a position espoused by PRIMA at this time.

Another issue is soliciting more support from NPR for helping stations with advocacy.

Patty asked if everyone could think of ways to strengthen Capitol Hill Day.

Jon will ask WSPR is their membership has been polled on the question of keeping A-Reps and Capitol Hill Day together.

Group decided that Patty will represent the sentiments of PRIMA membership at this meeting on Monday and Tuesday. She will join the Thursday meeting by phone.

PRIMA membership will be polled to receive feedback on the Capitol Hill Day/A-Reps meeting issue.

III. Round Robins

There is still no answer from Dana as to dates for NPR Round Robins. The PRIMA Winter Meeting may be determined by the Round Robin dates.

IV. Meeting adjourned at 3:15 a.m. ET .

Respectfully submitted,

Christina Kuzmych, Secretary
