Minutes
Present: Cleve Callison, WMUB (President); Christina Kuzmych, WFIU (Vice President) Dan Skinner, Texas Public Radio, (Secretary); Dorie Vallillo, WIUM (Treasurer), Jon Schwartz, Wyoming Public Radio, (Board Member No. 2), Bill Wheelhouse, WUIS, (Board Member No. 3)
I. Meeting began at 2:36 E.T.
II. Fall 2009 Conference Ideas and Options
Christina Kuzmych reported that Chicago, Indianapolis and Springfield are in the running for the Fall Conference. She is waiting to hear back from Torey Malatia regarding WBEZ hosting. Bill Wheelhouse indicated that Springfield might not be the best location because of the limited number of flights available into the city. Indianapolis is also not a hub, so it would also not have as many flights as Chicago. The general consensus is to continue to pursue Chicago as the first choice for the location of the Fall Conference. Cleve will talk with Vivian Schiller about the availability of NPR staff to attend. Potential dates for the Fall Conference were discussed but no conclusion was reached.
III. PRDMC
If enough PRIMA managers attend the PRDMC in July, Christina Kuzmych volunteered to convene an informal gathering.
IV. Use of E-Mail List
The board discussed PRIMA use of listserv. Cleve observed that PRIMATALK does not seem to get much traffic. Many managers are utilizing the AREPS list as their main listserv.
V. Use of Linked In
The board discussed creating a PRIMA group on Linked In to serve the purpose of keeping in touch with past PRIMA members. The possibility of setting up an additional PRIMATALK “channel” to serve the same purpose was discussed, but it was decided to keep it separate from the official PRIMA website. The discussion ended with decision to create a PRIMA group on Linked In and Dan Skinner will work on creating it.
V. Meeting adjourned at 3:09 p.m. E.T.
Respectfully submitted,
Dan Skinner, Secretary
