February 17, 2016

Called to Order: 2:35 PM

Board Members Present: Tim Eby, Regina Dean, Christina Kuzmych, Paul Maassen, Mike Savage, Dan Skinner

NPR Program Pricing

Tim reported that NPR is proposing an overall 3.5% increase in program pricing across the board for Programming, Digital Services and Membership. Tim expressed the need for FY’18 pricing to be a topic of discussion at the PRIMA Spring conference. Mike noted that the NPR Board is reviewing the continued usage of the listener hour model for program pricing. The NPR board is working to finish up FY’17 fees and will turn attention to FY’18. Fee increases to the stations will not cover all of the anticipated NPR expense increases.

PRIMA Spring Meeting Planning Update

Paul reports that the Hilton Indianapolis hotel has been selected with a conference room rate of $139. Parking is $10 per day. Paul will provided hotel registration details for posting on the PRIMA website. The hotel is located about 15 blocks from WFYI.  A shuttle bus for the day to provide transportation between hotel and WFYI. A potential Thursday night event at Indy 500 Museum and other options being considered. Dan reported on the status of scheduling presenters for the conference. The group reached a consensus that conference fees should remain the same as last year. PRIMA will offer two full and two partial scholarships to the conference.

Neenah Ellis has accepted the PRIMA board’s appointed of her to the PRIMA Secretary position. She will fill out the term previously held by Karen Olstad. She will assume her new duties at next month’s board conference call.
