Minutes

Present: Present: Cleve Callison, Tom Hunt, Christina Kuzmych, Paul Maassen, Dan Skinner, Bill Wheelhouse, Dorie Vallillo

I. Meeting began at 2:36 E.T.

II. Conference Call with NPR

It looks like Dave Edwards, Joyce Mac, and Mike Riksen can join us January 21 at 1:30 ET for a PRIMA conference call.

III. PRIMA Fall Conference Location

Various locations discussed including Cincinnati or St. Louis. A discussion was made to pursue Cincinnati as a location and to contact Richard Eiswerth regarding hosting the conference.  Based on the survey PRIMAtes filled out last year, Cincinnati was the choice, immediately following Kansas City. The meeting would take place in September or early October.

IV. Report on PRRO Group Discussion

Idea about combining governmental representation for TV/Radio was discussed.  Board was generally concerned that radio could easily become a secondary partner if the governance structure of this type of organization was not clearly stated and understood by all from the onset.  A deeper discussion about missions, practices, balanced representation is needed for this type of initiative to achieve its goal.

V. Discussion of 170 Million Website Lobbing Effort

Discussion about how the program was created, how it is being implemented, and gauge of success to date.

V. Meeting adjourned at 3:05 p.m. E.T.

Respectfully submitted by Dan Skinner on behalf of Al Bartholet, PRIMA Secretary
