1. NEW ORLEANS UPDATE
a. The New Orleans Pro Group meeting will take place at the Harrah Hotel (separate from the Casino) during the week of November 12-16, 2012 at a rate of $149 plus taxes for rooms. Some of the conference rooms may have river views. The hotel is providing a very strong package, and is the most cost-effective location in New Orleans. PRRO group thought that cost-savings and the fact that the Hotel is apart from the Casino, are strong points in signing on with Harrah’s.
b. APM has agreed to be one of the event sponsors.
c. PRI and NPR will also contribute funding.
d. Eastern PR will coordinate financial affairs on behalf of Eastern, Western, California and PRIMA.
e. Allegiance may attend, but there will be no vendor booths.
2. SRG ETHICS PAPER
a. Tom Thomas stated that stations can adapt the white paper to make it function for their own environments.
b. Concerns were raised that the paper should not determine whether a station qualifies for CSG money. CPB may require each station to publish its own version on its website; that is up to the CPB. Also, some stations, particularly university licensees, have an additional institutional code of ethics to comply with, and this needs to be taken into consideration. The subject will be brought up again during the November event.
