Minutes

Present: Cleve Callison, WMUB (President); Christina Kuzmych, WFIU (Vice President) Dan Skinner, Texas Public Radio, (Secretary); Dorie Vallillo, WIUM (Treasurer), Jon Schwartz, Wyoming Public Radio, (Board Member No. 2), Bill Wheelhouse, WUIS, (Board Member No. 3)

I. Meeting began at 2:37 E.T.

II. Nominating Committee
Cleve has re-contacted former Nominating Committee Members asking them to serve again. Four out of five have responded affirmatively. Cleve indicated that if he is not employed as the manager of a PRIMA eligible station at election time, he will not be able run again. None of the other incumbents have indicated that they do not want to run for re-election.

III. Fall 2009 Conference
The main meetings will take place at the WBEZ studios. Christina reported that the hotel options have been narrowed down to two choices. The group discussed the options for parking, breakfast meeting space at the hotels, lunch options, reception, etc. Cleve reported on efforts to obtain a facilitator for the Chicago meeting, Christina will follow up with WBEZ to see if they have a working relationship with one of the potential facilitators. The consensus of the group is to invite most of the same panelists who appeared in San Antonio to join us again in Chicago to continue the dialog. Cleve stressed marketing the conference as a “bargain” for stations in today’s economic climate. The board will hold an additional conference call on June 23rd to firm up conference plans.

IV. NPR Virtual Meeting
The group discussed participation in the meeting and potential topics. No specific role for PRIMA was anticipated.

V. Meeting adjourned at 3:13 p.m. E.T

Respectfully submitted,
Dan Skinner, Secretary
